He began training in Jujitsu in 1991 while in the U.S. Air Force under Daryl "DJ" Johnson (http://www.defensivetacticsfirearms.com/), a 6th degree black belt in Sanucas ryu Jiu-Jitsu (street effective system of Jujitsu). He also trained in Aikido (Tohei style) which helped improve softness and blending with standing joint locks already found in Jujitsu. In approx. 1994, began training in Danzan ryu Jujutsu under Prof. George Arrington (http://www.danzan.com/HTML/PEOPLE/garrington.html). "I found this traditional martial art to be a complete Jujitsu system that encompassed all of the standing, ground, weapons, and healing. It has been a catalyst system that brought together much of my training." In addition to Jujitsu, he continues to cross train in Moy Yat Wing Tsun (Chun), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Jim Wagner's Reality Based Training. "My goal is to still discover Jujitsu as a whole, respecing all martial arts styles and learning from them."
